The Office of Township Leasing (OTL) assists the Executive Director with the management of Township Leases.
Officers from OTL work closely with members of the Consultative Forum and visit Township Lease communities regularly to discuss land use issues and any proposed new developments in the Township.
OTL also assesses applications for new developments or land use changes and negotiates Subleases with business, government and community organisations.
The OTL collects rent from those sublessees on behalf of the Traditional Owners and works actively to promote opportunities for economic development and Home Ownership.

The Office of Township Leasing, or OTL, is a small office that works for the Executive Director to help manage the township leases. Field officers from OTL visit communities to talk to consultative forum members about the land use issues and any proposed new developments in the township.
The OTL has a number of other responsibilities including setting up meetings of the Executive Director and the consultative forum, negotiating subleases with business, government and community organizations, collecting the rent and subleases on behalf of the Traditional Owners, working with stakeholders including land councils and government to promote economic development, and promoting home ownership for interested people.
The Office of Township Leasing, with the Executive Director of Township Leasing is responsible for working with the Traditional Owners and community to manage the township lease.
OTL also completes all the paper work behind the scenes before it gets presented to the consultative forum.
OTL and the Executive Director share a goal – that is to set a good return to Traditional Owners for the use of their land.
